VOTEI am tired of local coverage skipping the strain I keep seeing in schools and hospitals.
The Press Acts Like We Don't Notice
I am sick and tired of opening the local paper and finding everything except the thing I keep running into in real life. Schools and hospitals are stretched, and I keep seeing people who should not be here using services that were already tight. Then I look at the coverage and it is like none of that exists.
I am not asking for a lecture. I am saying what I have been living with. When the press will not even mention illegal immigration in the places we send our kids and the places we go when we are sick, it feels like they think we are stupid. We are not. We notice the crowding. We notice the wait. We notice the bill.
They can skip the story. That does not make the story disappear for the rest of us. I keep hearing about millions under the last administration and I keep watching the same silence at home. If they will not write it, I will say it in my own words: this is bad, it is local, and pretending otherwise is an insult.
I am not here to invent a scandal for them. I am here because I am fed up with being treated like I imagined the strain. If they will not put it on the page, voters still have to live with the hallway and the waiting room. That is the whole complaint.
So I am done waiting for a headline that never comes. Showing up is the only part I control. Stay home and you lose by default. I am going to vote, and I want my neighbors to do the same, whatever they think the fix is. Just do not sit this out and then complain that nobody heard you.
